Children's Place Montessori of Grosse Ile

Children's Place Montessori of Grosse lle was established in order to advocate early childhood education for children. Children today are brought into a fast paced world. We aim to teach our students respect, social and emotional skills, coping skills and what their part is in our community. It is unfortunate that these attributes do not come automatically. The brain development which takes place from birth to age five is imperative. "It is easier to build a child than it is to repair an adult".

It is our goal to instill in each child a love for learning, a sense of well being and skills that they will carry into adulthood. We offer a diverse peaceful educational basis and contribute to our community so that children may learn that what they do, does matter and that we all have a part in our community.

Our program uses nature as a teaching tool. Aside from our outdoor nature that we will learn from, we are also capable of incubating fertile eggs, so that children can see the process of life, from beginning, to the chick cracking itself from the egg. Our school provides real live life cycles ofbuttert1ies, frogs and chicks. The children will be creating their very own garden, planting seeds and plants, taking care of them as they grow. Our children receive a hands on experience in all that they do. We even have a "Miniature Farm" where the children get the opportunity to care for the school's ducks, chicks and rabbits.

Potty training is an essential part of a child's development and we strive to help you through this stage. We do not categorize a child's intelligence by their stage in life. Diapers and Pull-Ups are welcome as are those in potty training.

It is our intention to work with the parents of our children. Working together as a team which in turn creates major success for your child. We will place postings on our upcoming parental workshops.
