The Montessori Advantage

The Montessori Method is a unique approach to learning. Rather than "teaching" the child concepts, an environment is designed to stimulate the child's interest and facilitate their understanding and learning capacities spontaneously. Children have freedom within limits, and gentle guidance in our environment. We offer individual learning rather than teaching all the children in the same manner. All children learn differently. A Montessori environment offers each child the opportunity to develop their skills at their own pace. They develop respect towards one another and take care of their own environment.

Dr. Maria Montessori was a brilliant, well renowned medical doctor and scientist. Nominated for the Noble Peace Prize several times. Her dedication to children began her journey in discovering, developing and practicing what is known as "The Montessori Philosophy". She believed that all children learn differently at their own pace. Children need freedom within limits in a structured environment in order to develop many skills. Most importantly she recognized that while the brain is developing at an incredible rate from birth to age five, that we must take advantage of this sensitive period, while the mind is "Absorbent". Science today has proven that in early childhood the brain "wires ltself" for the rest of life. Creating synapses and neuron stimuli is imperative. Which means that children must experience and be stimulated in order to create more neurons and synapses in the brain. Dr. Monressori developed materials which provided a concrete understanding rather than abstract. These materials are used around the world to this day with great success. Our environment is prepared and structured so that we may incorporate "The Montessori Philosophy." in each classroom.

"Free the child's potential, and you will transform him into the world."
Maria Montessori

"We cannot know the consequences of suppressing a child's spontaneity when he is just beginning to be active. We may even suffocate life itself. That humanity which is revealed in all its intellectual splendor during the sweet and tender age of childhood should be respected with a kind of religious veneration. It is like the sun which appears at dawn or a flower just beginning to bloom. Education cannot be effective unless it helps a child to open up himself to life."
